How long should I cook ice?

Cooking ice is like boiling a rock—long enough to turn it back into water, which happens instantly at 0°C (32°F).

Ice melts as soon as it hits temperatures above freezing. 'Cooking' it is pointless since heating just makes it water. If you want to melt ice, just wait or apply heat until it hits 0°C. Trying to cook ice is wasting energy on something that literally just melts back into water—congratulations on your frozen water experiment.
